hallo Johan, wij zijn net terug uit ethiopië. Het is er inderdaad helemaal schitterend zowel mens, dier als natuur. We hebben er vreselijk van genoten vooral van het zuiden. we waren bij de Mursi, hamar, Erboree, emorate, karo en konso tribes. Geweldig om mee te maken. Ik vroeg me af hoe lang jij in die streek bent geweest!we hebben er een rondreis van 23 dagen mogen maken en hopen er in de toekomst nog eens heen te gaan! Veel succes verder Petra

Johan wonderful photoes. It makes me feel like i am at home when i am far from home. I can imagine what kind of person you are and it is great to see some body like you doing what you have done. I think people who never traveled around the world can educate themselves and for those who are home sick you remind us how beautiful people and culture we have. Some times when you spend many years away from home and family things like this bring alot of great memory.It makes us feel like at home with few cliks. Johan, Wonderful essays in light, composition and subject, truly.. I am very interested in knowing your workflow. Are you processing all images from RAW files? If so, whay RAW processor are you using. Many images appear to be from the 70-200 2.8 IS, but even stil (as a 20D owner), I am now able to achieve that degree of sharpness, clarity without some help from Photoshop CS or a RAW processor.

Your pictures provide a different yet rarely seen side of Ethiopia. Many of them dipict iamges of ethnic groups in SOUTHERN regions of Ethiopia. This region has been Ethiopia's version of "Southern Sudan" [where black Africans predominate]. Northern Ethiopia- home of the ruling people also known as Abyssinia- define itself as members of the "Semitic" race of people, that are "supperior", therefore, "born to rule". This northern regions of Ethiopia also constitute the "famine belt" of Ethiopia. The Abyssinians despise the "negroid peoples" of southern Ethiopia and don't want their images to define or represent things Ethiopian. Thanks to your effort, now it is easy to see which part of Ethiopia is POSITIVELY BEAUTIFUL! Thanks, Liban
